Jose Luis Ponce (Palma 1953). The son of Andalusian parents, he was born in Mallorca, grew up in the Sevillian neighborhood of Triana and has dedicated his entire life to the arts of dance and painting. At the age of thirteen his father, seeing his fondness for drawing and advised by the school teachers, enrolled him in the School of Arts and Crafts in Seville where he studied painting until he was seventeen, at which time he moved to Madrid to dance professionally in various classical, Spanish and flamenco dance companies. He began in different tablaos to later work with the company "Mariemma Ballet de España" performing on stages in Spain, Italy, Austria, the United States, Japan and the Soviet Union, among others. In this company he met his wife Concha with whom he has been dancing all his life. In 2002 he gave up dancing and dedicated himself fully to painting. Visit poncearte.es
